Life and career
Yaşar was born in Ankara as the child of a family of Kurdish origin from Ağrı.[3] She is a graduate of ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory.[2] Yaşar was 17 when she released her debut album Bu Sahilde (On this Beach) in 1995.
